Pavilion Discovery Store

Bring home a smile! The Discovery Store, located on the second floor of the Washington Paviloin near the Kirby Science Discovery Center, has many unique gifts that educate, entertain and inspire.

The Discovery Store is open to the public (no admission required!).
The store offers educational science toys and gifts, including products such as dinosaur building kits, expandable spheres and NASA products, as well as rocks and minerals, books, art kits, world music, Washington Pavilion merchandise and apparel, videos of our giant-screen adventure films and more!

Don't forget that gift certificates and memberships to the Washington Pavilion are the perfect gift for any occasion!

Discovery Store Hours:
*11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday (Easter through Labor Day)  
11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday & Saturday
12 noon to 4 p.m., Sunday
*Closed Monday and Tuesday from Labor Day through Easter - Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Collect all the dinosaurs and prehistoric figures in the Carnegie Collection. These aren’t just toys, but an educational series of hand-painted replicas, researched and authenticated by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Each dinosaur replica is hand-painted and most are modeled to 1:40 scale. $5.95 to $27.95

TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK The Discovery Store carries different types of ant farm, in addition to other items that help kids discover the intriguing world of insects. This "Classic Ant Farm" is only $12.99.

We carry a full stock of DVDs of the various films shown on the giant screen of the Wells Fargo CineDome, including the the shows, past and present, that have played. We also select and stock various toys and other items related to those films.

Kids and adults are captivated by the various rocks, minerals and polished stones offered in the store. We even carry magnetic "sticky stones".

The brainchild of local 7-year-old entrepreneur Curtis Mollison, Dino Fighters is an interactive card game featuring nine different dinosaurs to battle based on strength, speed, combat capabilities and special skills. This math-based game also helps develop strategic thinking while teaching dinosaur facts. $12.95 per set.

Puzzles, games and brain teasers…Oh my! The Discovery Store has many ways to challenge the mind, including this variation of the popular “Rush Hour” puzzle, $18.95. There are many different puzzles, games and brain teasers to choose from.

Glass marbles are not only fun as a game, but they can also be considered individual miniature works of art. No two are quite the same. Purchase a bag full for only $4.99 + tax.
