Plays for Living

Through Plays for Living, theatre students in Spotlight Theatre Company perform in the community as a means of educating students and community members. Plays are designed to provoke conversation and raise awareness and communication around sensitive social issues. To book a play at your school/business/organization, contact us!

Plays for Living 2024–2025 Season

• Ages 13-18 may audition.
• Rehearsals and performances take place toward the end of the summer and throughout the school year.
• Tuition Fee: $90 (Pavilion Members)/$100 (Non-Members)**
• Through Plays for Living, Spotlight Theatre Company students perform in the community as a means of educating students and community members. Plays are designed to provoke conversation and raise awareness and communication around sensitive social issues.
• Students may utilize performance hours toward community service requirements for National Honor Society.
**Scholarships and Open Door Pricing are available for qualifying students.

Productions

A performance for young audiences about coping with hurt feelings. “Devon’s Hurt.”

A new musical (based on the book by Tom Roberts) about coping with anxiety, depression, grief, anger, doubt, shame, fear and more – and provides encouragement that there is hope and help is available.

Special thanks to Avera Behavioral Health for their collaboration on Mental Health Resources.

A fast-paced performance based on the classic Alice in Wonderland tale tackles the issues of diversity, discrimination, bullying, stereotypes and cliques.

A play about middle schoolers dealing with online bullying and body image issues, blending humor and drama to help students understand the impact of their online behavior.
