The People of West River: Photography by Greg Latza

Greg Latza is a freelance photographer living in Sioux Falls. He grew up on a farm near Letcher, and much of his work remains rooted in the land. He and his wife Jodi have published nine books of photography about their home state, encompassing subjects like farming, small towns, the Missouri River, World War 2 veterans and most recently, West River, a book documenting ranch culture and landscapes across western South Dakota. The photos in this exhibit are all included in West River, which is available for sale at Alcove. This is Greg’s third exhibit at the Washington Pavilion, following exhibits for his books Back on the Farm in 2000 and Blue Stars (stories and portraits of WW2 veterans) in 2004.
