EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITIES

The Visual Arts Center Exhibition Selection Committee welcomes proposals from individual artists, groups of artists and guest curators for exhibitions in all media and subject matter for our eight spacious galleries.

This gallery at the entrance to the Visual Arts Center welcomes visitors with two original light fixtures by Dale Chihuly and often features photography exhibitions.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING YOUR PROPOSAL

There is no deadline for proposals. The Exhibition Selection Committee reviews proposals on a quarterly basis. Please be aware that it may take some time for your submission to be scheduled for review. Email all submission materials to museums@washingtonpavilion.org

PLEASE INCLUDE:

  • COVER LETTER – Include a summary of your artistic interests and pursuits with a clear statement of your exhibition intention. Please include which galleries would be your top priority. This letter should reflect your background and experience.
  • CV – Include name, address, email address, phone number and website. List education history, exhibition history and relevant awards and scholarships received.
  • ARTIST BIOGRAPHY – Include basic biographical information.
  • ARTIST STATEMENT – Include an artist statement relevant to the proposed body of work.
  • HIGH RESOLUTION DIGITAL IMAGES – 300 dpi. 10-20 images. Email or file sharing service. Include title or identifying information for each image.

The Visual Arts Center is South Dakota’s largest art museum, right here in downtown Sioux Falls. Eight spacious art galleries exhibit works from local creators and international art legends, as well as a focus on Northern Plains Tribal art.
